Seeking Interested Candidates to Join CAJPA Leadership!

INTERESTED CANDIDATES FOR THE LEGAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE
CAJPA is requesting individuals who are interested in serving on the CAJPA Legal Affairs Committee to forward their letter of interest and resume. The Legal Affairs Committee reviews requests for amicus support from California public agencies and determines what type of support, if any, CAJPA should provide. It also compiles a year in review case law update for the annual conference and organizes a speaking session on the topic at the conference.

Committee Member Qualifications
Committee member or the Employer of the Committee member must be a CAJPA member. Committee members should have a background and/or interest in the law or legal aspects of claims with an eye towards state wide implications of issues presented. Committee members may work for a JPA or be a vendor to a JPA.

Committee Member Attendance Requirement
The Committee has only one in person meeting annually, at the CAJPA conference. All other meetings are virtual or by phone. There is no attendance requirement. It is important to be responsive to email discussions as requests for support is time sensitive.

INTERESTED CANDIDATES FOR THE ACCREDITATION COMMITTEE
CAJPA is requesting individuals who are interested in serving on the CAJPA Accreditation Committee to forward his/her letter of interest and resume. CAJPA's highly-regarded Accreditation Committee is responsible for oversight of what is considered the nation's first risk management accreditation program. CAJPA's Accreditation Program is designed to ensure quality and professional standards for all risk management pools regardless of size, scope of operation or membership structure. The process involves a detailed program study and evaluation, committee review and determination of accreditation status. Successful pools can achieve Accredited or Accredited with Excellence.

Committee Member Qualifications

Committee Member Attendance Requirement
The committee meets every other month in the Sacramento area from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Committee members are expected to review studies prior to his/her attendance at these in-person meetings (currently meeting virtually via zoom). Committee members are also asked to volunteer to present certificates to JPAs when available. Estimated annual time commitment is generally 64-80 hours.
