CAJPA Alert Update - DIR Proposed Changes in Annual Reporting of Self-Insureds DISAPPROVED

The proposed regulations from the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) that would significantly change the annual reporting for self-insured public entities and substantially expand the data gathered and reported was submitted to the Office of Administrative LAW (OAL) with an expected approval and start date of 01/01/20. However, the OAL has disapproved the proposal and sent it back to DIR for revision.

Office of Self Insurance Plans (OSIP) Chief, Lyn Booz has indicated revisions will be made and the proposal again sent out for another 15 day Comment Period with the intention of resubmitting the regulations for OAL approval.

CAJPA will continue to monitor this issue while working with DIR, and keep the membership informed as the proposal progresses.
