Risk Management Analyst / Senior Risk Management Analyst

At the discretion of the department head, positions may be filled at the level of Risk Management Analyst or Senior Risk Management Analyst depending upon the level of skill and experience required by the department.

Risk Management Analyst: $6,274.67 - $7,774.00 monthly
Senior Risk Management Analyst: $7,143.07 - $8,852.13 monthly

The Ideal Candidate has a Bachelor's or higher degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Safety/Industrial Engineering, Risk Management or a directly related field with at least two years (Risk Management Analyst) or four years (Senior Risk Management Analyst) of responsible risk management experience. The ideal candidate must be a self starter and motivated to be independently responsible for assignments and various tasks as they arise. The ideal candidate will bring creative and innovative solutions for issues surrounding the Risk Management Division. The best candidate must have excellent and effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate in an effort to provide the best solution to all involved stake holders.

Experience: (Analyst) Two (2) years (Senior) Four (4) years of responsible risk management experience. Public Agency experience is preferred/highly desirable.
Licenses/Certifications: Possession of a valid California Class C driver license with an acceptable driving record, required by time of appointment and during course of employment.
California Self-Insurers Administration Certificate, and/or Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and/or Associate in Risk Management for Public Entities (ARM-P) and/or Certified Risk Management (CRM) designation, preferred.

Depending upon the applicant pool, all applicants meeting the minimum qualifications will NOT necessarily be selected to participate in the hiring process.

Supplemental Questions should be answered completely, as answers to these questions will be reviewed closely to help determine the "top group" of candidates.

Applicants whose qualifications BEST meet the City's needs will be invited to participate in a qualifications assessment, which may include a written exam and/or performance exercise (Pass/Fail) - tentatively scheduled for 7/26/19, and will include an oral
board exam (weighted 100%) - tentatively scheduled for 8/7/19.

Successful candidates will be placed on an employment eligible list from which hires may be made. The employment eligible list is valid for up to one year, unless exhausted sooner.

Upon a conditional offer of employment a pre-placement medical evaluation, drug screen (select positions), TB Screening and California Department of Justice (DOJ) Live Scan fingerprinting must be completed with acceptable results. Other background reports may also be conducted depending on the position. Upon hire, employee is subject to further reporting from DOJ via subsequent arrest notification.
