General Liability Claims Administrator

California Fair Services Authority (CFSA) is a Joint Powers Authority serving the California fair industry. CFSA administers general liability and workers’ compensation risk sharing pool programs, as well as a multitude of business support programs and services exclusively for the Network of California Fairs. We are currently seeking a General Liability Claims Administrator to join our team.

Brief description of duties and responsibilities:
Under general direction of the Executive Director, the General Liability Claims Administrator will plan, organize and direct liability claims; investigate, review and evaluate liability claims; monitor investigations; assign, monitor and coordinate with defense counsel; and provide professional input on the Authorities General Liability and Special Events risk pool programs.

Special characteristics, knowledge, skills and experience requirements:
Principles and practices of liability and property claims management and assets protection programs relating to general and financial liability protection; laws and regulations governing liability claims and risk management; claims program administration and financing principles and techniques; related statistical and financial analysis and record keeping principles and practices; actuarial principles and procedures. Establishing and maintaining effective, professional working relationships; negotiating successful settlements to claims issues; preparing detailed and accurate written material documenting program activities.

Education and licenses desired:
Equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in business or public administration, economics or a related field, and three years of experience in claims management work in the area of liability claims administration; a valid California driver’s license, along with a clean DMV record is also required. Experience in public entity general liability claims administration is preferred.

Salary Grade/Range: SG-13 $35.05 per hour –$49.05 per hour
Full Time: Exempt
