Your community has just gone through a devastating fire and is starting to recover. That is when the real pain starts for your liability program. You are about to be inundated with claims and litigation. This session will discuss the ins and outs of post-fire claims and what needs to be done to prepare for the complex litigation that is about to follow. Tort claims, inverse condemnation claims and not just from the residents of your communities, the “big bad” and well-funded insurance carriers are coming too. The complexity of dealing with multiple other public agencies and utilities that may share jurisdiction over the areas in question also make these claims a nightmare. This session will prepare you to anticipate what is coming and be prepared.
