The purpose of CAJPA’s Legislative Committee is to monitor legislation introduced in the California Legislature and to take positions on legislation where appropriate.  Positions taken on behalf of CAJPA by the Legislative Committee are guided by the Board-approved platforms for each issue-area relevant to CAJPA member Joint Powers Authorities.  The Committee focuses on those legislative issues that have a significant public policy impact, a tangible financial impact on the operations of JPAs and by extension, on the ability of the participating local governments’ capability to devote the maximum of their financial resources to the functions for which they exist.
